Sarah

Sarah completed her Masters degree in Social Work from the Catholic University of America. Personal experience with addictions and mental health issues have been the driving force behind her desire to help others and ultimately, her decision to pursue this career path. Sarah has been working in the behavioral health field for over a decade, primarily in Baltimore City. Her experience spans across a variety of settings including crisis stabilization, community psychiatric rehabilitation, and outpatient mental health clinics. Sarah prides herself on meeting clients where they are in their recovery process, with grace, empathy, and compassion.

Jeremy

Shardai

Shardai has worked in the counseling field since 2016. She started working at the AF Whitsitt Center as an Alcohol and Drug Trainee under the supervision of Andrew Pons. Her work there included individual and group counseling for clients experiencing problems related to substance use. She was licensed as a Masters Level Social Worker for the State of Maryland in 2018. From 2018 through 2020, she continued to provide individual, group, and couples counseling at the AF Whitsitt Center located in Chestertown, MD.  In 2021, Shardai was licensed as a LCSW-C and continued working at the AF Whitsitt Center where she managed the State Opioid Response beds. Shardai is also approved by the Board of  Professional Counselors and Therapist as a licensed clinical professional counselor supervisor, as well as,  a peer support supervisor. 

Jeremy began his career in the helping profession with an intake position at Hope House Treatment Center. Over a 4-year period, he worked his way up to become the Director of Marketing. He enrolled in Anne Arundel Community College where he majored in Addiction Counseling and obtained his Associate's Degree. He later acquired licensing through the Board of Professional Counselors as a Certified Supervised Counselor (CSC-AD). During his career Jeremy has worked for Hope House, First Step Recovery as a counselor, Talbot County Health Dept. as a Counselor, Right Turn Impact as Operations Manager, Safe Haven Treatment Center, and Avenues Recovery as a Clinical Outreach Coordinator. ​In 2017, Jeremy opened up Humble House Recovery to bring much need recovery housing to the Eastern Shore and give back to the community he grew up in and loves so much.
